The Handlink
"Wi-Fi KIOSK" is an ideal solution for any venue to provide
Wi-Fi Internet connectivity (fee based) to users with wireless-enable
laptops or PDAs. Businesses with Wi-Fi access include hotels, coffeehouses
, restaurants and convention centers.
"Wi-Fi KIOSK" included a rich function
Internet Gateway with IEEE802.11b interface, Coin Collector, Thermal Printer
and 3 select buttons.
The venue owner just need to apply an Internet line (xDSL/ Cable modem)
from the local ISP and connect it to "Wi-Fi KIOSK", the venue
owner then can immediately provide a Wi-Fi Internet Service.
A user friendly GUI is provided for venue owner to initial setup the Internet
gateway and define 3 types of Wi-Fi Internet Service charge, e.g. $0.5-30
Minutes, $1-1 Hour, $2-3 Hours for each select buttons.
The end users with wireless-enable laptops or PDAs are required to insert
the coin and press the select button to purchase the account for Wi-Fi
Internet access.
After paying, the end users get a ticket which contain the information
for Wi-Fi Internet access such as:
-Account Username and Password
-Date/Time of Account Purchase
-Date/Time of Account Expire
-Duration Of Access
-ESSID
The end users login to the Internet access via a
standard browser. After lapse of the paid time, the Internet access for
the end user is automatically disconnected and the account is deleted.
